This is a fully funded Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) for individuals who work with or support older adults. ASIST is an internationally recognized, evidence-based training that equips participants with practical skills to recognize when someone may be thinking about suicide, have a supportive conversation, and help connect them to safety and support.

Older Adult Mental Health Awareness Day Symposium

Description: On May 7, 2026, National Council on Aging will host their 9th annual Older Adult Mental Health Awareness Day Symposium. This year’s sessions highlight suicide prevention, workforce and community-based mental health strategies, evidence-based programs, and more. The welcome session will feature a conversation between NCOA President and CEO Ramsey Alwin, and mental health advocate Kevin Briggs, known as the "Guardian of the Golden Gate Bridge".
